Day 11 - Caversham Wildlife Park / Pinnacles / Lancelin
We joined a day tour with Adventure Tours, which is really operated by Pinnacle Tours, just AUD40 cheaper. (Don't ask me why) It's a fantastic tour and I would highly recommend them. See detailed itinerary
here. If you have the YHA (Youth Hostel Association) card, you also get an AUD10 discount!
We started off the day with a private tour at the Caversham Wildlife Park, where we got a private tour and saw the native Aussie animals up close - koalas, kangaroos, and a wombat! so cute *o* (During our research, most locals recommended Caversham over the Perth Zoo too)
other than emu, we saw everything else + more |
hedwig's friends |
koala sleeps 20 hours a day... |
they claim it's the eucalyptus |
luckily this one isn't sleeping... |
koala: "DND" |
kangaroo: "feed me" |
it's the "feed me" look again! |
so many!!! |
that's right, they are marsupials! |
i think they kinda look alike :P |
Then we went and visited a lobster farm in Cervantes and ate lunch there (you can buy a half lobster to go with your lunch for AUD10-AUD15 extra).
they actually knew where Macau is!!! |
WA rock lobster |
lunch buffet (included in tour) |
my half lobster |
After lunch, we head out to the Pinnacles in the Nambung National Park. It was seriously hot out there so we just took a lot of pictures in the main area and didn't do the looped walk. (We didn't have enough time anyway.)
*the color is different because i was messing with the built-in filters in my camera...
Finally, we headed to Lancelin and tried sand boarding. It was really fun but make sure you soak yourself in bug spray... I got feasted by the sand flies there... it was really awful...
my sand flies bites - and this is 2 days later... -.-||| |
Joining a tour is great because I am exhausted so I pretty much slept the whole way back in the car... glad neither of us has to drive today :)
