I haven't been to Grimaldi's yet but I like Lombardi's enough I will go everytime I visit NYC. The location is perfect after spending a relaxing afternoon in SoHo.
It's one of the city's oldest eateries. Opened in 1897, the restaurant has retained its charms from the era. The restaurant seemed bigger since the last time I was there and sure enough, they took over the space next door and added a bar. No wonder there wasn't a line (granted I went on a Monday).
However, I do missed the open kitchen.

Personally, I preferred sitting upstairs where they have the exposed brick walls and checkered tablecloths. Nevertheless, I came here for the food and I was pleased to find the pizza was delicious as ever.

Last time I was here I ordered the classic margherita with pancetta.
This time, we also ordered a Caesar Salad and added mushrooms to my classic margherita with pancetta. Here's another reason why I preferred sitting upstairs. The lighting is better and my pictures are better. :P
